Maintenance Determinations
In Victoria, all buildings must be maintained in accordance with the 2018 Victorian Building Regulations.
In absence of the presence of an Occupancy Permit a Maintenance Schedule must be prepared by a registered building surveyor or municipal building surveyor in accordance with building regulation 214-222.
What is a Maintenance Determination?
The Maintenance Determination is a prescribed Victorian Building Regulations document template which is completed annually to list the essential safety measures which have been installed in the building, their level of required performance and maintenance frequencies when there is no presence of an Occupancy Permit.
The determination is created in the Victorian Building Authority’s format and is a one-off process in absence of a building occupancy permit being available.
