AESMR Essential Safety Measures Report
In Victoria, all buildings must be maintained in accordance with the 2018 Victorian Building Regulations.

Regulation 223 and 224 mandate the owner of a building must provide an AESMR every 12 months on the anniversary of the buildings Occupancy Permit.

What is an AESMR?

The Essential Safety Measures Report (AESMR) lists the essential safety measures that have been installed in the building in accordance with the items that have been signed off in the building’s Occupancy Permit.
The annual safety measures report lists the required essential safety measures of the building, the contractors servicing them and confirms they are “operating and have been maintained in a state that enables the Essential Safety Measures to fulfil their purpose”.
